There are 1175 million mobile connections in the Telecom Network of the country As per TRAI data of the end of Aug 2022.

Due to the digitization and adoption of new technologies, mobile subscribers and mobile connections are increasing rapidly. With too many mobile phones and SIM cards in circulation, mobile theft, cloning of IEMI, Getting SIM cards on another identity, etc have also become a very big issue that needs to be eliminated.

Mobile subscribers store a lot of information and personal details like phone contacts, bank account details, passwords, ATM PINs, date of birth, etc. Thus, the mobile phone has become a valuable asset that has highly valuable information stored in it.

Now to handle all the above challenges, there was a requirement for a platform where a Mobile subscriber can request to block a lost/stolen mobile or a subscriber can report an unknown mobile connection that the subscriber is not using.

Sanchar Saarthi portal has been developed to handle these fraudulent activities.
